Usually it is 30 minutes before the door opens for general admission ticket holders. And what's not always obvious is that the VIP ticket holders need to enter in the rear of the venue. I got burned once because I didn't know that. As far as food is concerned, you better stock up before you enter the venue. There are lots of great options. Two of my favorite are the Hound, and MacDuff's.
There is no food there! There is lots in town though! VIP usually gets in before the doors open. You can check in at the back of the Hive, look for the bright yellow wall and the ticket booth!
