As Rea said, it had been dead for several years. Recently a large branch fell off and they cut the rest down for safety reasons. I talked to some park workers after they cut it down.
Because it died, it rotted from the inside
It was because of the bugs that were inside of it. They tried to save it several times but their were to many bugs in it and it started to spread to other parts of the of the Park
