I didn't see any "catch of the day" advertised, so guessing their menu is prepared in advance. Check around the harbour for something advertised temporarily - a hand-written sign it chalkboard - these will usually indicate a more volatile menu that caters for locally-caught produce.

I dunno about "local fish", but you should give it a try regardless. Great food! If you go to the one in Old Town, they have a seafood burrito with the greatest cheese sauce ever.

I went to the one down in Carlsbad there is one up here in Temecula I've never been but if you want some good fish try the Market Broiler there is one in Riverside and there's also one in Ontario next to the mall they have good fish good sushi great atmosphere it's a fun place
I am not sure if ita local. Many restaurants in the San diago area get their fish from Washington. . I know it dont make since as its right there, right? Sorry i could noy be of much more help
