No, I don't think it's worth driving that far. Rosauer's in Libby has prices about the same as Safeway. Bonner's Ferry has another supermarket, Super 1 Foods, that is much cheaper than both. I still wouldn't drive that far just for groceries, though. If you're exploring towards Bonner's Ferry, then definitely stop at Super 1 Foods. I hope you enjoy your time up here.
We drive 20miles to the local commissary. That said: we spend $400 dollars AND we do it every 6 weeks.. We have two dogs, and 4 adults (only two adults need food) but all need toilet paper, laundry and dishwashing, floor care items etc. I guess you need a budget REGARDLESS of where you go and what you need...
