There's a lot of trees and stuff which get in the way of line of sight radios. Generally though anything like the Motorola Talkabout radio will reach from one end of the playable area to another. The max distance numbers quoted on radio advertisements are for clear air line of sight, not for though terrain with trees and stuff.
Top field could be little over 150 sq yards roughly
