Any help you are given will be free. Family History Centers are the place to ask for help. They will teach you to do the work yourself and how to use the various tools.
Hi there Rose, family ancestry research would not be done at the Temple. There's a small chance that the visitors center right next to it would, but your best bet would be to check on www.familysearch.org/locations/ for the nearest Family History Center. There is no charge for the services they offer, and there are people there ready to assist you. Feel free to reach out if you need any further help.
Family research is usually done at one of the local lds churches that can be found near your house. You can found them on line and the hours.
I love visiting the visitors center. Stop by and visit and ask questions. Family History is world wide and the geneology records are free to everybody. My ancestors on my Mothers side are not members of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints.
Not at the temple, no. All of the Church's family history research is now done online at familysearch.org. It is in conjunction with Ancestry.com. There are some family history centers at local churches, but with everything shifting online, they are becoming rarer. Also there is never any charge to help you find family history.
Try a regular mormon church meetinghouse or the library
You may want to contact the temple directly as I doubt they will answer questions here.
