Simple answer is dog owners. Been working the markets for years and have done many markets that used to allow dogs. Every market would have at least one dog fight or dog lunging at somebody because the owners wouldn't control them. Dogs jumping up on a booth table to gobble up the samples. Dogs peeing on the produce or the craft items while the owners just stand there. Birds may be around, but the actively avoid areas with a lot of humans. Never had a bird poop on my booth but I have spent an extra couple of hours after a long market scrubbing dog urine out of my booth weights (sand filled canvas bags).
