I have a brand new in the box safety 1st grow and go sprint 3-in-1 carseat that my son was gifted for his birthday but it doesn't work for my car. Could I trade it in for instore credit, as Walmart won't take it back without a receipt.

I am a customer of theirs. As long as it's not expired, yes you should be able to trade for store credit.
