Conventional oil and high mileage oil is good for 3k to 5k miles Synthetic blend is good for 5k to 7k miles Full synthetic is good for 7k to 10k miles. Always go by the mileage not the months almost every oil change place has a 3 month date on it when oil has a shelf life of 5 years. Definitely don't go 5 years between changes but no need to get it changed every 3 months if you haven't hit the recommended mileage.
I get a full synthetic and it cost me around $70 but that is good for 3 months
