Is it possible to get close to the stage if you purchased a GA ticket? I am used to concerts at the Gorge where you can make your way to the stage no matter what ticket you purchased. Wondering if it is the same.

No, there are seats under a covered area that's closest to the stage. The GA is behind these seats. If you get there early, you can get front grass space for your blanket or low rider chairs.
