Sounds like the Owner... That unfortunate. Most of the employees are really nice helpful. The owner is who is in charge of tradeins.. And that's not the protocol. Try FB marketplace.
Been shopping there for over 30 years and never experienced anything like you describe. I've seen a lot of people with unique hair treated like they were royalty. Story seems odd based on how I've seen musicians treated with respect many times. I've sold gear on consignment here and was ask the basic questions you would want a reseller to ask. I looked at it as them respecting my gear if it ever was stolen and somebody tried to sell it.
Just because you have seen people treated with respect doesn’t mean that this did not happen, Martin. There is nothing ODD about the truth. Different things happen to different people.
I've never experienced anything like this either and I've sold a few things. You could also try the pawn shop nearby, they buy a lot of instruments as well and paid decent money for a cheap guitar amp I no longer needed.
Sounds out of character to me too. Sorry about that. Try downtown Olympia.
The last time I was there some punk kid tried to up charge me into getting my guitar fixed. I only asked if it was fixable. They were trying to charge me $60 for a $4 fix on some things.
