If there is a major event going on at the Fairgrounds, including the Fair, unless you are actually going yourself, I would suggest avoiding heading northbound on I 5 if at all possible. It has been known to be backed up as far as Hazel Dell.

Yes this is true as with any place that holds large events. Over the years traffic control has refined their procedures and traffic had been a lot better and it does move but it is slower
