So I'm planning to go to Tacoma wa in August and was thinking of going by train, and I was wondering, do I have to pre-order my ticket, or can I buy it the day I go to the station for my trip? any help would be much appreciated...=)

You can buy it at the station. They have a kiosk but you can only buy it with a card no cash taken at this station. If you need to buy with cash you would have to travel to portland.

You can also buy tickets on line from Amtrak and have tickets sent to your email so you can have them on your smart phone to be scanned when boarding
