No class is needed, they do an informational class beforehand and an instructor rides along with the driver. There are bleachers very near the track, along the straightaway, and there's also a clubhouse with what I think is a better view of the entire track, just depends on how loud you want it to be! All ages are allowed on site (I brought my 4 and 6 year old kids, at least) and there is a small museum of Pop Culture cars that will keep spectators entertained.
