Single mom here. I took my 4 yo and 2 yo a couple of weeks ago by myself. It was wonderful. We had a blast. Easy, no issues
The caves at the bottom would be easy, but the stairs would be difficult to navigate going back up for sure. They may be fine going down, but I'm not sure. The stairs are very, very steep in places.
One of my fondest memories is when my Grandson first saw the cave. He was 3 at the time, 17 now. The stairs were not an issue. He did them on his own. At that time, we had a duck-under, about 4 feet tall, to get into the cave proper. All he saw at the bottom of the steps was a rock wall and turned to say in a very quiet voice, "I'm scared." We scooped him up and carried him under the duck under and gently set him down on the ground. His first word was, "Wow", followed quickly by "Castle!" It started a history of taking him to different caves. At one point, he wanted to be a Geologist. BTW: The "duck under" went away about four years ago. Six-footers comfortably walk into the cave proper.
Agreed. Take them. The biggest issue I have seen is with smaller children wanting to touch or pick things up. It's a living cave, so no touching.
The steps are easy to navigate for little feet and the railing is solid and about waist high. Everyone walks slowly so just hold onto the little ones while they grip the rail you should be fine
It's only 8 stories climb- about 80 feet. Not that difficult for both young and seniors..
We took our 4 and 7 year old. I would agree about the stairs...you will need to carry the 1 year old and probably gave the 3 & 4 year old hold on to you. Nevertheless, it's doable and you should definitely go and take a camera. You and the kids will love it.
