They usually light up a few incenses in the morning to ward off evil eye.
Its cultural and common practice for incense and/or spices to be used by people of Indian culture. There is a small restaurant there located right next to the entry and perhaps you are catching a whiff of some of the spices used in their dishes.
Not all of them do but maybe you could ask them.
