There's Bastrop state park less then 10 minutes away through the highway or if you take the 11 mile scenic route between the 2 parks. There is a large swimming pool but at Brazos no swimming is allowed.
No swimming... Alligators. I've never seen a pool, but they do have playground areas.
Like the above person said. Absolutely no swimming. It's a gator/wildlife park. Would be dangerous. And no pool either. Plenty of fun trails to walk on and see tons of amazingly beautiful wildlife and I believe there is some playground area not sure.
