Are there alligators in the waters to be seen from the shores or from a kayak? Are there kayak rentals, if so, how much? We are coming the middle of June, are there any special events going on then?

I haven't seen alligators there, but it's always possible in any fresh water in FL. They do have kayak rentals in Summer not sure the prices, but you should be able to find out thru Google

I haven't seen alligators there. For those, try the John Yarborough Linear Park. I've also seen them at Lakes Park. They do rent kayaks. I always bring my own, so I don't know what the rental fee is. In June, you may not see many manatees at Manatee Park. They require water above 68F (20C), so they congregate near the adjacent outflow from an FPL power plant during the cooler months. By June, all of the bays and estuaries as well as most of the gulf is above that temp.
