According to waldofleamarket.com, it was first established in 1975 by Al and Anne Killian, then in 1980 their daughter, Sally, and her husband, Steve Blakewood, bought it from her parents, expanded the land. The website says they are still ther owners but I have my doubts. It's a fairly cool place to go but it used to be amazing. Venders everywhere, super great prices. It was a staple in my childhood and I need it to always remain. I was talking about it with a patient of mine and they told me that a few years ago they believe the next generation acquired the flea market and haven't put the time or money back into it like previous family. I'm not sure if my patient is correct but it certainly seems true. I hope they kick it up a notch or two. If I can't find a treasure, there's always the boiled pnuts.
