Yes, you can, to HOLD the room. However, if you and your card aren't present at check-in, your son will need his own credit card when he checks in... even for a free room.
Most places will not allow you to do that. You have to be present when they check in and have the card in your possession. You used to be able to do that years ago but too many people took advantage of that ran up a lot of room charges against the card then said it wasn't the they weren't ever there. So no you can't.
Yes you can use your c.c , it will guarantee that you have the room. Just because he gets free rooms doesn't always mean they are available. Do this especially if you're interested in any particular nights. Hopefully this helps you.
