Is the track handicap friendly? My mother can not walk long distances but really wants to come to the track.

Absolutely, there is concrete pathways everywhere to easily accomodate wheelchairs, walkers, canes and unsure feet. Some seating is reserved for HC. If the right people are approached at the gate it may be possible to procure a cart ride to the grandstands. Worst case the walk from the gate to the stands is about 100 yards. I hope you take the chance and enjoy this great facility.
