Hey so I have heard that stub Stewart state park is a good place for someone new at backpacking, I have a 18month old and I been wanting to try backpacking. I have been hiking with her before, but need some kid friendly backpack trips

The only issue is that there are signs up about bears and mountain lions being in the area. So if you go please bring protection

There are many trails. They range from easy to hard. But I also heard there have been some sightings of bear and mountain lion So I would take the advice from Chris's post. Be safe!

We just took our 2 and 4 yr olds for the first time. We had one of those off road Bob strollers, parked in main lot by the frisbee golf parking, then hiked down to one of the camp grounds where a play ground was located. Sorry I can't recall trail name but the folks at the visitor center pointed us that direction and are very helpful.

Any advice on some trails that maybe safer for beginner backpack trips with children, or any group trips?
