Thank you for your inquiry. Kids under the age of 5 may follow along on the trails with an adult. Our Tahoe Vista location does have a playground a couple hundred yards away as it can be difficult for young kids to watch from below patiently for 3 hours. Tahoe City has Commons Beach about a mile away.
I wouldn't bring a 4yo.

We took a 6 year old and he did awesome!! He was faster than some of the adults in our group.
