If it is a refill card and has not been activated they will but once you scratch the back part with the code number on it they will not.
I ran into the same problem a while back... I was told my phone was incompatible with straight talk. After returning to the store phone on has I was instructed on how many different phones there are and it's A sim card problem not a phone problem. Cost me. $.99,+ 5 minutes of time and my phone worked on straight talk to problem.
They should reimburse you
I have never had a problem returning anything there. They are good about fixing a problem.
I will say that that store is pretty great at taking care of the customer. If you have your receipt take it in and they will try their best to help you out.
