Definitely make a reservation. The dining room is somewhat small, so large parties must be accommodated in advance. We were there with 23 people in January, and even with the reservation it took a few minutes for them to get the tables settled so we can be seated (about 15 minutes, during which time a few of us got beer at the bar.)
