I am a volunteer for the West Chester Railroad and you board at the West Chester Railroad on Marketstreet and takes you to Glenn Mills and back. The steps are somewhat steep and may require help for young children. Glen Mills trainstation is still the original ticketbooth station that is like a museum. There is also a picnic area to the left as you exit the train down the path right next to the river the runs under the bridge that the 4th car goes over. Both platforms are about the same but we are here to assist anyone that needs help. Baggage car has the snack bar and 4 coaches for passengers plus a dining car for private parties. We run weekends only and sell out quick for the Santa Express and the tree farm where you choose your tree and cut it yourself while we tag and help load.
Glen Mills isn't a boarding area. You board in West Chester. The train stops aren't that bad and there's someone there if you need assistance.
The West Chester Railroad trains initially board in West Chester, Glen Mills is a layover stop. At both stations there are relatively steep steps onto the train, but crew members are on hand to assist passengers.
Ok thank you for all your honest answers because I do have ankle issues on steep steps
