Hi Daniel - As you know it's hard to predict the weather trends in recent years. Sometimes the snow is on the ground in November and continues and sometimes it's Feb. before you get a good snowfall. The cabin has a glass fronted wood stove - firewood is provided. The cabin faces the woods so the view is of some open ground down to the woodland visible through both the cathedral window and the bay window in the living room. Leave no Trace Cabin in VT is wonderful. Just no near by lake I know of. Just bring food and drink. Has washer, dryer dog create, you can bring a horse, they even provide the robes. Think you will have a fantastic time.😁
