I rode it Friday, September 25th (so 10 days ago). I felt the trail was in great shape, and maybe 2 mud holes with bypasses to take. Your problem now is it will be heavily covered in leaves. Colors were about peaked when we were there, and sections of the trail were starting to get buried in fallen leaves.
Rode on labor day 2020. Down trees and muddy sections were common, but certainly passable. I'd wager that the muddier sections are a real bear after all this fall rain michigan has gotten! Bring clean clothes! Great and challenging trail!
I rode it last month. Pretty rough with lots of downed trees and a few sections where you really had to work to find the trail.- it didn't seem terribly well maintained.
