Check your settings and unplug and replug the cord between them.

That is a tough question to diagnose properly over Google reviews. My suggestions are to make sure you have your audio output setting on your computer whether it's mac or windows set to your monitor. Make sure you are connected via an HDMI cable if you want sound to transmit on the same cable as the video.
