I've never returned one at Ga Firing Line. But when I was younger I had done that twice at two separate stores. Brought back the new day unused. Unless things have changed I believe once you purchase it used or not it's technically considered a used gun and you lose up to 40% of the value depending on the gun, the shop and so on. Because they now have to turn around and resale it discounted but still for enough to make a profit.
Give them a call, or better yet, bring the gun back and talk personally with a manager. A lot of legal paperwork is involved in weapons purchasing. I have a feeling most sellers won't take a gun back, especially a handgun. They might offer a store credit, or do a buy-back, but it will cost you. Even if the gun hasn't been fired, there might be legal ramifications once the gun left the store, etc. Good luck!
