Have you gone upstairs to the kids section and met Leah Moore? She’s the best children’s bookseller, but any kids bookseller could help you find books that your child is sure to love!

Yes, the classics are still worth reading. You might also consider short biographies of famous athletes. I dont think on maps you'll get a lot of specific title recommended unfortunately.
Im not positive but there are a lot of sports chapter books out there. I can't think of a name off the top of my head currently.
