My husband and I are both over 50 and today at your store we were unable to purchase wine, because only one of us had ID. When did this new rule start?

If what you say is true, than many of your Champaign Store cashiers have been only requiring one ID at purchase for years. I can understand the need for this, but at the same time when those who are purchasing are clearly old enough (50 and over) and are with no persons under age than only 1 ID should be required. Also than all Wal-Mart's should be required to do the same and many in the area do not.

Oh my, I have never heard that before, I would contact their corporate office.

I've worked at Wal-Mart for 4 years and I was never required to ask for both ID cards when clearly I can see they are old enough. But if it was possible I would ban all alcohol products.

That rule started about 5 years ago. Corporate office said that everyone needs id's to eliminate issues selling to minors.
