I think it really depends on the maturity of the 12 year old. One of mine I would've taken at that age. The other one would not have been able to handle it. The only thing I can suggest is to make.sure they have a xlear understanding that none of it is real, what to expect (including the unexpected), and what the atmosphere (level of light/darkness, loud noises, etc) is like..
Scary is on a individual basis, DarkSyde Acres haunted house has had 3 year olds carried thru in daddys arms that love it, and full grown daddys that couldnt make it past the first scare.... just never know but Darksyde Acres strives to ensure that its a good time for the entire family.
It is scary. Its an all people no anamotronic. Our motto is bring extra pant. We do aslo have no scare for kid days.
