Definitely bring it up with management, its scary to think of what it could have been and hopefully it wasnt an employee having a lazy day during a cleaning of the machine. All the stories online of bad cleaning practices and what consumers found/seen on food & drinks there has to be some truth to it for sure.
Call the store and let them know. Or if you dont even want to deal with the store(because management sucks) just call the corporate number. And then that way your going just directly to the company.
Most likely a piece from the lid. Small pieces sometimes get trapped in the lids when the manufacturer doesn't pay close attention to the machine pressing out the kids
