No, I personally love amplifiers and can't stand the orange tip, just remember when carrying tipless airsoft guns to transport them in gun cases or gun bags, to avoid any dangerous confusion.
You do not have to head e the orange tip. They sell items to replace tip. Just have a barrel sock on it anytime your not on field or firing range
You don't to play there but you do need a barrel sock when off the play area
