TULIP CITY IS STILL A GOOD TRUCKSTOP. MUCH BETTER THAN PILOT.
They shut down the restaurant because they owner took off with the money. The employees showed up one day and it was closed! Tulip City had nothing to do with the restaurant!!!
Rock Island closed because it was in disrepair, and facing many problems, we have had a massive staff loss so there have been more problems around, but we are finally starting to return to its former glory!!
Not an opinion site there bud, nor do we have the answers as to why a facility closes.
I was also sad to see them close Rock Island Restaurant. I don't own not do I work at Tulip City Truck Stop so I can't answer that question either.
The Restaurant was Independently owned & closed of their own accord (sadly).
The restaurant closed due to a lack of business. They've remodeled the main building and have hot food during the day in addition to the subway restaurant. I stop there often to take my lunch break and i think its a nce truckstop.
I thought it was a nice place.
