Because they are registered as a 501 c3 nonprofit organization that is operated mostly by volunteers Habitat for Humanity .is able to complete their mission by utilizing the contrbutions of sponsors and donors along with support from a strong base of volunteers.
Volunteer means you are doing it for free
And some people just like to do it to help.
Then it would not be volunteer work ....the application is always the prosses to any job wether paid or volunteer work. I hope that helps explain things
