When ordering a chocolate shake/malt would you want or expect chocolate custard be used or vanilla with chocolate syrup added? Culver uses a vanilla shake custard & adds chocolate syrup. I think it should be made with chocolate custard not syrup.

Ask them to do it your way?

It is whatever the restaurant wants. If you dont like it then find somewhere that does.

I'm asking what you would want or expect with a chocolate shake/malt. Chocolate custard or overly sweet chocolate syrup? Nast & Peter - Yes, I know the restaurant can do whatever they want & if I don't like it go elsewhere. This was my first shake/malt order from them. The overly sweet chocolate syrup being used surprised me when I saw nice chocolate custard already made. Peter - Duh. They HAVE 3 flavors, chocolate already being one. Cost effective? How do you figure that when they already have chocolate custard made. Like I said this was my first chocolate shake/malt. I didn't know Culver used chocolate syrup until I saw it made.

It really doesn't matter how it should be in your opinion that's how they do it at their establishment if you don't like it then you simply go somewhere where they make stuff to order and get it customized But generally in a restaurant business they add syrup or chocolate to vanilla because it's more cost effective to have one instead of 2 different flavors
