Since this is a women's safe house, should the exact street address be placed on the web site? I though you'd be using a P.O. box and keep the location of the facility private. Just curious.

Thank you for the great answer Tiffany! When WomenSafe built our state of the art facility in 2008, we made the decision to disclose our address to the public. We wanted to move away from the stigma that the victim needed to stop living their life and go into hiding, when it was the abuser that should feel ashamed and have to make changes. Our very secure facility is equipped with panic buttons, key-card entry to both external and internal doors, a new camera system, and of course a dedicated team of alert advocates keeping an eye on their surroundings. With the amount of people that we help and our growing list of outreach services, it became too difficult to keep our location a secret. Womensafe isn't just a shelter, we offer other resources such as counseling and other things that welcome individuals to come to this facility. There are other safety measures set in place to keep all clients safe and their identities confidential.
