Is a requirement to show a California or any other state id to drink a beer? I'm an international student at UC Riverside, I came to celebrate my friend's birthday but my waitress refuse to serve me a beer just because I didnt have an id from here.

Your passport is an international proof of age. You should know your rights if she doesn't know them.

It's not necessary a California ID if you have a passport from your country that will do, I know Applebee's restaurant's no longer take matriculas consulares, IDs or driver's license from another country

Thanks Cheyenne. I'm still confuse be ause I did show her an Id but even I did that she told me that it has to be an california Id. The way she did made me feel discriminate for the first time in this blessing country.
