I've been there a few times. Good food...friendly staff...no ghosts.
Haunted.
Built around 1800 as a rest stop between New York and Boston/Albany, the Pettibone Tavern has a very rich history including stories of famous guests and perhaps even the murder of one of the tenants by her husband when he returned early to find her being unfaithful. Over the years The inn had several owners and was at times a private residence with beautiful English style gardens where the parking lot is now. It played a role in hiding slaves as part of the underground railroad and has subterranean tunnels connecting it to the houses around it. Many people claim to have experienced supernatural events, but I never did in the time I worked there. Like I would tell my guests: if you go looking, then you will find something. The hostess will happily provide you with a print out of both the history and the haunting story. Enjoy!
