I can't speak for the community at large, but I would pay 8 per pound if it's from McCann's.

Their meat is from local farms, second process is in-house (cutting, grinding, etc.), and most of it is dry aged. For the quality you would get, $8 per pound is pretty good.

Hi Teresa. We are proud to bring locally raised, grass fed beef, free of hormones and antibiotics to our customers. We charge prices that allow us to pay our farmers better than the commodity alternative as well as cover costs for slaughter and our own staff for processing those animals in house. If you compare our prices apples to apples to the "all natural", "organic", "angus", or even the commodity blends you will find in grocery stores in this town you will see us at average if not even cheaper in some cases since we offer patties at no extra cost. you can also know that we grind our beef fresh every day, often several times, and from one individual animal. I mention this because studies have shown that ground beef from grocery stores contains meat from multiple different animals, from multiple different states and countries, and that has been transported for who knows how long. As with many things: you get what you pay for. We believe our products to be great and our prices fair.
