Just spoke to an employee about this last week. They are strictly 0600-Midnight due to thefts also, but the most recent issue was increased risk of harm to employees and customers, courtesy of less inhibited and more idiotic criminals in a smaller, quiet town with a smaller police presence. And yes it irritates me because the only perks to Walmart coming to Monroe was access to a 24hr store within 20mi. But I'm well aware that this is safer for the employees. I know MPD & the local Sheriff's SOPs and capabilities, and that is why I can confidently assure Wally's that closing for 6hrs is definitely the most reliable decision. >.<
They also were not doing enough business to justify staying open 24hrs
They had a few incidents that needed the police to be called so they shut down from 12am to 6am
Walmart is not open 24 hours because during the night there's a lot of burglaries and they don't want anything stolen so they just close the doors
I saw that once. But, some employees were out side I asked and I was told they were close and doors would reopen at 6am
Not sure. Sometimes they close the doors on one side, usually the pharmacy side, after a certain hour at night. I've seen that at many Walmarts. I'm not sure about Monroe, though.
Well the question is if its open 24 hrs a day, why does the door have locks on it?
