I'm about done with Steak 'n Shake as well, but asking for less ice or no ice is the answer. Pretty much every where puts a ton of ice in the cup unless you ask them not to.
That way they can cut down on the price of their pop. Every place does it and corporate is the one telling them to do it. It’s not their fault, that is what the job calls for.
Is it 5lbs reallllyyyy. And I always ask for no ice the soda comes cold out of the machine anyway
They give that much ice so you don't get as much coke so they make more money. More ice + less soda pop = more profit. I would be very specific about your coke to ice ration, for instance when I go anywhere I ask for a 3rd of the cup with ice and I ask if I may see it before my soda pop is added but very politely.
Just ask no ice or lite on it..
All fountain drinks are cold from the machine ask for no ice

I usually ask for light ice.
