I believe they allow reservations up to two hours in advance. We reserved a table a day or two ahead of time and the reservation was not there when we showed up. Someone later said you need to call within two hours of the scheduled time
You can call ahead to get into their queue. They'll give you a unique code. You present the coffee when you arrive. It is just as good as reservations. We are usually seated within minutes.
It is helpful to call ahead during busy dinner times and on weekends. Usually gets us seated 15-20 minutes sooner than the regular wait time.
You can ahead of showing up but it not guarantee to be seated until your entire party is present. You can also sit at the bar and wait with a cocktail.
