if you don't have the extra money for the expense, you can also lie down old carpeting placed upside-down (carpeting side against the wood), drop-cloths, old blankets or towels. To keep the fabric stationary and prevent bunching that could cause accidents, use painter's tape to secure it to the floor

These guys couldn't be better. They put so much effort into making a move go as smoothly and efficiently as possible. The three guys who moved us last weekend were extremely careful not only with our stuff, but conscious of not wanting to scratch floors or mar paint. They were on time and fast. We got everything to the new place and moved in quickly. Navigating the city and moving apartments are definitely tricky but they made it easy for me and I'll definitely use them again for my next move!
