Why do I have to upload a picture of my government ID to place a pick up order now? I will never upload a picture of my ID to the internet.

It is lame I agree... the only benefit is that it could potentially save you a few minutes in line. Imperfect system, but their products are great.

I believe you can set this up in the store and avoid up loading your photo ID. I use their pick up and delivery systems but have never uploaded my ID. I set up my account in the store.
