They reopened in October 2018. The new design is not as comfortable as the old cafe; hope they can fix this: * Color design is upside-down, lighter near the floor and getting really dark at the ceiling. It feels like being in a cave. * The old design had a short divider going around the seating area, which made it feel cozy; traffic coming in and out the front door was on the other side of the divider. New design has no separation, and it feels weird to have the traffic brushing by you if you're sitting in the armchairs (on the outside wall) or the common table (across the entry). * Most of the small tables use the bench along the wall for one seat, which means you're sitting very close to the next table over. The remainder of the space is open except for the common table. Feels crowded along the wall, and unpopulated/dead elsewhere. Need to get more small tables and chairs to fill that in. * They made the decision to put ordering at two registers around ... [hit limit here]
They have a paper sign taped to the door. Like it's so difficult to update a web site. Starbucks on NW 11th & Couch did the same thing recently, they were closed for a week, taped signs to the door but never posted anything online.
Welcome to Portland these days. Here today = gone tomorrow.
