The trail has roots, loose rocks, and variable surfaces, but it is quite navigable for people of all ages. The actual seats are rocky sprawl. There are a number of different paths you can take to cut down length, so be sure to inspect your path prior to waking. I think the max length you can walk is right around 3.8 miles.
The trail is rocky and has loose rocks. If kids are involved not a hard hike just make sure you have good shoes but also make sure you park in the correct parking lot depending on length of what you want to hike.
