The backup is phone only

Ok thanks! Not sure exactly which it's for. We were under the impression it was back up for wi fi and phone? It's a black box that stands up next to our phone and wi fi boxes...it has battery, cold start, etc. On it

There should be a battery backup for the Fiber ONT up. That will keep dial tone working if you have a phone that doesn't work off electricity. To be able to keep your wifi devices up you'll need a battery backup on the router.
